Cheryl Tomlinson joined the Wallace Law Group in September 2016. She is admitted in the State Bar of Florida. Prior to joining, she served the Department of Education as a Senior Attorney in the Professional Practices Services division. She represented the Department of Education by taking the lead on cases at educator discipline hearings before the Florida Education Practices Commission. Prior to DOE, Cheryl served as a Senior Attorney at the Florida Office of Financial Regulation where she drafted an appellate brief in the First District Court of Appeals that led to the Court affirming the agency’s action.
Cheryl was born and raised in Valdosta, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in political science with Summa Cum Laude honors from Valdosta State University in 2007. Cheryl gained her law degree from Florida State University in 2010, where she earned an FSU Law National Notary Scholarship and contributed as the Vice President of the J.D. Activities without Stress. While at Valdosta State, she earned the President’s Award, was a member of the Dean’s List and lectured on her published research findings entitled Aids in Africa. Cheryl was a member of the Student Government Association, serving on the Judicial Board and competed in an American Mock Trial Association event.
